A PROVEN FIGHTER

Since being elected to serve in the State Legislature, Mark Walczyk has been a voice of reason in Albany. He is a Republican fighter with conservative principles who fights for families, calls out corruption, promotes the economy as well as the future of our region and defends the Constitution.

A DEVOTED PUBLIC SERVANT

Soon after graduating from the University of Albany, Mark began a career in public service with a focus on statewide policy and desire to improve life for residents of Upstate New York. Mark joined the staff of state Senator Patty Ritchie in 2011 where his passion for constituent services first emerged. In 2015, Mark was elected to the Watertown City Council, a nonpartisan council.

Mark was elected to the NYS Assembly in 2018.  While serving the people of the NYS 116th Assembly District, which he referred to as the "Front yard of America", he helped to cultivate an environment for job creation and committed to investing in the aging infrastructure while protecting our precious rivers and lakes. He remains a strong proponent of policy that empowers teachers and gives students the opportunity to be successful in job preparation training at the secondary and collegiate levels.

In January of 2023 he began his journey as Senator of Senate District 49, which includes all of Jefferson, Lewis, Fulton, Hamilton and parts of Herkimer, St. Lawrence and Oswego counties.  He continued his mission to serve the people of the 49th Senate District with unrelenting passion and to carry a message that builds faith in our republic and inspires hope in New York's future.

Mark is the ranking Republican member on the Committee on Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation and also Elections.   Mark is a member of the following: Committee on Agriculture, Committee on Cities 2, Committee on Energy and Telecommunications, Committee on Internet and Technology, and Committee on Legislative Commission on Rural Resources.

NEW YORK STATE'S

49th Senate District

Established in 2022, the 49th New York State Senate District is located in Northern and Mohawk Valley. The district stretches from the magnificent St. Lawrence River on the United States-Canada border through the Adirondacks, and into the Mohawk Valley.

The 49th New York State Senate District consists of:

Fulton, Hamilton, Herkimer (part), Oswego (part), Lewis,

St. Lawrence (part) and Jefferson Counties.

A PROVEN FIGHTER

Against NYC Political Control

Like you, and many other New Yorkers, Mark believes local government is closer to the people and so serves the people best. You should have a choice when it comes to vaccines. Furthermore, businesses, schools, and local governments should be making decisions about how they want to operate, not Albany or DC political appointees.

No more mandates. Our constitutional republic was never meant for a Governor to crown
themselves king or queen, ruling through executive order and bureaucratic fiat. Mark Walczyk led a campaign to strip Andrew Cuomo of his power.
